Thermometer TFA-Dostmann 14.1029
The TFA-Dostmann 14.1029 is a stainless steel barbecue and smoker thermometer designed to measure the internal air temperature of a grill or smoker during indirect cooking. With a compact depth of 67 mm and a diameter of 5.2 cm, this analogue thermometer fits into a pre-drilled hole in the lid, hood or side wall and provides a clear temperature indicator up to 500 °C. It can be used as a replacement part or retrofit for grills, smokers, oven smokers and BBQ carts.
The thermometer is made from high-quality stainless steel for outdoor use and resists heat and weathering. Colour-coded temperature ranges simplify choosing the correct zone for smoking, grilling or searing. Its simple mechanical design requires no batteries and the supplied nut and bolt allow quick and secure installation in a hole of approximately 10 mm diameter.
Drill a hole of about 10 mm diameter in the lid, hood or side wall where you want to measure the cooking chamber temperature. Insert the thermometer into the pre-drilled hole until the dial is flush with the outside surface. From the inside of the lid or wall, secure the thermometer using the supplied nut and bolt. Close the lid for indirect grilling and read the temperature on the colour-coded dial to monitor smoking, grilling or searing zones.
Position the thermometer centrally in the lid or hood to measure representative chamber temperature; avoid placing it directly above flames to prevent reading spikes. Check the mounting nut periodically for tightness and clean the exterior stainless steel surface after use.
