Sleeping Mat THERMALTAKE RidgeRest Classic 510 mm x 1830 mm, 1.5 cm Foam, Charcoal, Single-person

THERMALTAKE RidgeRest Classic is a single-person closed-cell foam sleeping mat measuring 510 mm × 1830 mm with a 15 mm foam thickness. Designed for basic comfort and thermal insulation, this lightweight, durable mat provides cushioning and reduces heat loss when sleeping outdoors. Its simple charcoal foam construction makes it easy to pack and resistant to punctures and abrasion, suitable for camping, backpacking and other overnight outdoor activities where a compact, low-maintenance sleeping surface is needed.

Advantages

The RidgeRest Classic uses a robust closed-cell foam that resists moisture, compressive wear and tearing, offering long service life under regular outdoor use. Its low weight and slim rolled profile make it convenient to carry on a backpack or in vehicle-based trips, while the 15 mm foam provides effective basic insulation from cold ground and a comfortable layer for sleeping.

Suitable for

• Lightweight backpacking and hiking trips where minimal bulk and weight are priorities
• Car camping and weekend outdoor stays requiring a simple sleeping surface
• Emergency or occasional use as a groundpad for shelters, hammocks or bivouac setups

When it may not be suitable

The RidgeRest Classic is intended as a basic closed-cell foam pad and does not offer the plush comfort or higher insulation values of thicker or air-filled sleeping mats. Users seeking maximum warmth in extreme cold, or those wanting a very soft, mattress-like surface, may prefer thicker foam pads or inflatable mats with higher R-value and cushioning.

Key specifications

• Dimensions: 510 mm × 1830 mm
• Material thickness: 15 mm closed-cell foam
• Colour: Charcoal
• Type: Single-person sleeping mat, closed-cell foam construction

How to use

Unroll the mat on a flat, dry surface inside a tent or on sheltered ground. Place the mat under your sleeping bag with the smooth or intended side facing up. For transport, roll the mat tightly from one end to the other and secure with straps or the supplied band. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth and mild soap; allow to dry fully before storage to avoid mould and odours.

What to consider before purchase

• Required insulation (R-value) depending on expected night temperatures
• Preferred balance of weight and cushioning versus packed size
• Whether a thicker foam or inflatable mat would better suit cold-weather or comfort-focused trips

Usage recommendations

For general camping and backpacking, pair the RidgeRest Classic with a sleeping bag rated for your expected temperatures; store rolled in a dry place and inspect for surface wear before extended trips.
