Transcend's SSD disk Transcend 128GB 2.5" SATA III 6Gb/s SSD230S is a 2.5" solid-state drive with 128 GB capacity that uses 3D NAND technology and a SATA III 6Gb/s interface. The drive combines DDR3 DRAM cache and SLC caching to deliver fast sequential and random performance, and it includes firmware features such as RAID engine, LDPC error correction and wear-leveling to improve data integrity and endurance. The SSD230S is an ultra-slim 2.5" drive (approx. 6.8 mm height, ~63 g) designed for use in laptops and desktop PCs and supports SATA DevSleep for reduced power consumption.
The SSD230S offers high sequential read performance up to 560 MB/s and strong random 4K read/write throughput thanks to DRAM caching and SLC cache. Built-in LDPC ECC and a RAID engine enhance reliability and data protection while wear-leveling preserves drive lifespan. DevSleep support reduces power draw for mobile systems and the compact 2.5" form factor with slim profile makes it suitable for thin notebooks and standard desktop installations. Transcend SSD Scope utility provides health monitoring, firmware updates, TRIM enabling and data migration tools.
Install the SSD230S into a 2.5" drive bay or use an appropriate adapter/enclosure for systems that require a different form factor. Connect the drive to a SATA III port on the motherboard using a SATA data cable and a power connector from the PSU or laptop. If replacing an existing system drive, use the Transcend SSD Scope software to clone your operating system and data, then install the drive as the primary boot device in BIOS/UEFI. Ensure TRIM is enabled in the operating system for sustained write performance.
For optimal performance, connect the SSD to a SATA III port, enable AHCI mode in BIOS/UEFI, keep firmware up to date via Transcend SSD Scope, and enable TRIM in your operating system. Use DevSleep to extend battery life on mobile devices when supported.
