Power injector TRENDnet TPE-315GI v1.0R 15.4W PoE
TRENDnet TPE-315GI v1.0R 15.4W PoE power injector supplies power over a standard Ethernet cable to compatible network devices, enabling installations where AC outlets are unavailable or impractical. The device inserts DC power into the network link between a switch and a powered device, supporting up to 15.4 watts on a single port. Its compact enclosure and single-port design are intended for point-of-use deployments, retrofit installations, and small-scale networks requiring a simple method to deliver power to IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points without rewiring for separate power circuits.
The compact PoE injector provides a straightforward way to add power capability to an existing Ethernet connection without altering network switches. It delivers up to 15.4 W of power over the cable while maintaining standard data transmission, reducing installation complexity and the need for additional power outlets. The unit’s plug-and-play operation requires no software setup, and its small footprint simplifies mounting near network equipment or in constrained spaces.
Connect the injector’s AC input to a mains outlet and run an Ethernet cable from the network switch to the injector’s data input. Then connect an Ethernet cable from the injector’s PoE output to the powered device. The injector will combine DC power with the network signal on the output cable, enabling the connected device to receive both power and data over a single Ethernet run. No configuration is required; verify that the powered device supports PoE and that the power requirements do not exceed the injector’s output.
Place the injector close to the powered device or in a location with adequate ventilation. Use quality Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher) and ensure cable runs do not exceed practical length limits for both power and data. Confirm device compatibility with the 15.4 W power budget before deployment to avoid underpowering. For permanent or multi-port installations, consider centralized PoE switches or midspan solutions designed for larger deployments.
