TV signal amplifier Triax GHV 930
The Triax GHV 930 is a modular TV signal distribution amplifier designed for reliable downstream and upstream signal handling in small to medium distribution systems. It offers a built-in return path, selectable return-path modes and replaceable plug-in modules for easy maintenance. Compact and mains powered, the unit supports high output levels and integrates protection against surges and ESD while using standard F-type female connectors.
The GHV 930 provides 30 dB downstream amplification and selectable upstream amplification with high output level. Attenuation and equalization are adjustable in 1 dB steps using rotary switches and jumpers for reproducible settings. Its all-on-board return path ensures full functionality without additional modules while allowing the on-board return path and diplexer to be replaced by plug-in modules if damaged. Additional features include automatic return channel activation (ARA), a switchable return-channel blocker for noise suppression, 20 dB input and output test connectors and extensive ESD and surge protection.
Mount the amplifier in a suitable indoor location and connect to mains power using the supplied EU-type plug. Connect incoming coax to the input F-connector and distribute output via the output F-connectors. Use the rotary switches and jumpers to set attenuation and equalization in 1 dB steps until the desired signal levels are achieved. Select the return-path mode (VHF band I or 5–65 MHz) and enable or disable the return channel or choose active/passive as required. If the on-board return path or diplexer is damaged, replace them with the appropriate plug-in module.
For reliable operation, adjust attenuation and equalization with a signal meter and make incremental changes of 1 dB. Use the on-board return path for standard setups and install a plug-in return module only when specific return-path characteristics or replacement after surge damage are required. Ensure proper grounding and surge protection at the installation site to reduce risk from lightning or electrical surges.
