Environmental Sensor Module Tripp Lite E2MTHDI
The Tripp Lite E2MTHDI Environmental Sensor Module extends the LX Platform device capability by providing remote monitoring of ambient temperature, humidity and two dry contact inputs. Designed for use with LX Platform network cards (WEBCARDLX, WEBCARDLXE, WEBCARDLXS) and managed through PowerAlert Device Manager, the module records events in the device event log and connects via the supplied USB cable. Its compact housing, magnetic mounting and daisy-chain support for up to three E2 sensors make it suitable for rack and cabinet installations.
The E2MTHDI allows configurable alarm thresholds for temperature and humidity so you receive recorded events when levels exceed safe limits. Two dry contact inputs support monitoring of open/closed circuits (up to 5 V) for accessories such as door sensors or water-leak detectors. Installation is simplified by dual magnets, cable retention features and built-in cable channels; multiple sensors can be daisy-chained to cover different rack locations. The unit is RoHS compliant, meets TAA requirements for GSA Schedule purchases, and includes a 2-year limited warranty.
Connect the E2MTHDI to an LX Platform device using the included USB cable and configure monitoring through PowerAlert Device Manager. Set desired maximum temperature and humidity thresholds in the software so events are logged when conditions exceed those values. Attach dry contact devices (up to 5 V) to the two inputs for monitoring doors, water detectors or other sensors. Use the magnetic base or mount inside a rack or cabinet; routing channels and retention harnesses secure the cabling. Up to three E2 sensors can be daisy-chained to extend monitoring to multiple positions within a rack.
Install the sensor in a representative location away from direct airflow of cooling vents to obtain accurate ambient readings. Regularly verify connection to the LX Platform device and confirm thresholds in PowerAlert Device Manager. When using dry contacts for critical alarms, test the external devices and wiring periodically to ensure reliable notification.
