Triton 19" fan unit RAB-CH-X21-S – 2 SILENCE fans, 4 HE, horizontal airflow, thermostat, black
The Triton 19" fan unit RAB-CH-X21-S is a rack-mounted ventilation module designed to deliver controlled horizontal airflow for server cabinets and network enclosures. Fitting a standard 19" rack and occupying 4 HE, this black unit integrates two SILENCE fans and a thermostat for automatic activation based on cabinet temperature. It is engineered to assist in maintaining optimal operating temperatures for IT and telecom equipment in data closets, small server rooms and communication racks.
The unit combines two low-noise SILENCE fans with a thermostat to provide temperature-dependent airflow while minimizing acoustic impact. Its 4 HE height offers a balance between airflow capacity and compact rack space usage. The horizontal airflow layout directs air across mounted devices, supporting uniform cooling of front-to-back or side-by-side arrangements. The black finish and 19" mounting ensure compatibility with standard rack installations.
This fan unit is intended for use inside 19" racks and cabinets; it is not designed as a room cooling solution or for open-frame installations where rack mounting is not available. For very large data centres or racks with exceptionally high heat loads, multiple or higher-capacity ventilation units or dedicated rack air conditioning may be required.
Install the fan unit in a standard 19" rack occupying four rack units (4 HE) in a location that directs airflow across the equipment to be cooled. Connect the unit to the appropriate power source following rack wiring practices and set the thermostat to the desired activation temperature. Verify airflow direction and ensure cable management does not block vents. Periodically check fan operation and clean intake/exhaust areas to prevent dust buildup and maintain performance.
For consistent cooling, position the unit so airflow passes over the hottest equipment and keep front and rear airflow paths unobstructed. Supplement with additional ventilation for densely populated racks or high-power devices. Regular maintenance, including dust removal from fan inlets and verification of thermostat settings, will prolong fan life and maintain cooling efficiency.
