Trixie Telescopic Cat Wand Toy with Octopus Plush, Fiberglass, 42–106 cm

The Trixie Telescopic Cat Wand with Octopus Plush is an interactive toy engineered to engage your cat's natural hunting instincts through active play. Constructed with a flexible and durable fiberglass rod, this wand offers an adjustable length ranging from 42 cm to 106 cm, providing the reach necessary for dynamic movement and varied play styles. The soft plush octopus attachment serves as an enticing target, encouraging your cat to pounce, chase, and stalk, which helps maintain their physical fitness and mental sharpness.

Advantages

This telescopic wand offers significant versatility by allowing you to adjust the distance between you and your pet, making it ideal for both close-range interaction and long-distance play. The fiberglass material ensures the rod is lightweight yet resilient enough to withstand vigorous play sessions without snapping. By incorporating this toy into your daily routine, you provide your cat with essential exercise that mimics natural predatory behavior, which is vital for indoor cats. The compact design when retracted makes it easy to store, while the soft plush texture of the octopus is gentle on your cat's claws and teeth during capture.

Suitable for

• Daily interactive exercise sessions for indoor cats
• Bonding time between pet owners and their cats
• Encouraging physical activity in sedentary or overweight cats
• Stimulating hunting instincts in cats of all ages and breeds

When it may not be suitable

This toy is not intended for unsupervised play, as the string and plush attachment could pose a risk if chewed or swallowed. It is also not suitable for cats that are prone to aggressive shredding of fabric toys, as the plush octopus may be damaged by sharp teeth or claws over time.

Key specifications

• Material: Fiberglass rod with plush fabric toy
• Adjustable length: 42 cm to 106 cm
• Design: Telescopic mechanism
• Target: Plush octopus

How to use

To begin, extend the telescopic rod to your desired length by pulling the sections outward until they lock into place. Hold the handle firmly and move the wand in a way that mimics the erratic movements of prey, such as scurrying along the floor or fluttering through the air. Allow your cat to stalk and eventually catch the plush octopus to provide a sense of accomplishment. After the play session, retract the rod by gently pushing the sections back together for compact storage.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure you have enough open space to accommodate the full 106 cm extension
• Check the toy regularly for signs of wear to ensure pet safety
• Supervision is required during all play sessions

Usage recommendations

Always store the wand in a secure place out of reach of your cat when not in use to prevent the cat from playing with the string unattended or damaging the plush toy.
