Trixie substrate for terrarium Kora sosny 20 L is a natural pine bark bedding formulated for dry, well-draining enclosures. The 20-litre bag contains coarse pine bark pieces that create a natural-looking ground layer suitable for many terrestrial reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. This substrate helps simulate a forest floor, supports burrowing and provides textured terrain for animals that prefer drier substrates while assisting in moderate humidity regulation when used appropriately.
The pine bark composition offers good porosity and drainage, reducing the risk of waterlogging in terrarium soil. Its coarse structure provides traction and enables animals to burrow or explore the substrate surface. Being a natural material, the bedding contributes to an authentic habitat appearance and can be combined with other substrate components to tailor moisture retention and texture. The product comes ready to use and is free of added dyes or artificial fillers.
Spread an even layer of the pine bark substrate across the terrarium floor, depth depending on species needs and burrowing behaviour. For animals that dig, provide a deeper layer; for surface dwellers, a shallower cover is sufficient. Combine with other substrates such as coconut fibre or soil mixes if higher moisture retention or finer texture is required. Replace soiled sections as needed and perform regular spot cleaning to maintain hygiene.
Before first use, check the substrate for debris and, if preferred, moisten lightly to settle dust while avoiding saturation. Monitor enclosure humidity and adjust substrate composition accordingly. Not suitable as a primary substrate for fully aquatic species or animals requiring consistently high humidity; in those cases select a substrate formulated for moisture retention. Store in a dry place and keep away from direct sunlight.
