The sE Electronics sE2300 is a large-diaphragm true condenser stage microphone with selectable polar patterns and wired mini XLR (3-pin) connectivity. Designed as the multi-pattern successor to the award-winning sE2200, this microphone retains the original capsule design and class-A electronics while adding modern improvements in noise performance, pattern flexibility, pad and low-cut filtering. Finished in black with a metal housing and a gold-plated XLR connector, the sE2300 is intended for professional live and studio use where clear, natural capture is required.

How to use

Connect the sE2300 to a mixer or preamplifier using the mini XLR (3-pin) wired interface and ensure 48 V phantom power is supplied. Select the desired polar pattern using the rear-mounted three-position switch to balance direct and ambient sound. If recording loud sources, engage the -10 dB or -20 dB pad to prevent clipping. Use the low-cut filter (80 Hz or 160 Hz) when needed to reduce rumble, footfall noise or proximity bass buildup. Position the microphone according to the chosen pattern and source—close for detailed capture or further away to include more room ambience.

Usage recommendations

For vocal tracking, start with the cardioid setting and the low-cut at 80 Hz; engage a pad only when the source approaches high SPL. For stereo or mid-side techniques, combine polar patterns as appropriate and use the figure-eight option for side-channel capture. Use the included isolation mount and pop filter when recording in environments with plosive or mechanical noise to improve clarity and reduce low-frequency disturbances.
