The TURCK BI4-M12-AP6X is a robust inductive proximity sensor engineered for precise, non-contact detection of metal objects in industrial settings. Housed in a durable M12 threaded metal barrel, this sensor provides reliable performance with a 4mm sensing range. It operates on a standard 10-30V DC power supply and features a PNP normally open output, making it a versatile component for various automation and control systems.
This inductive sensor offers exceptional reliability due to its non-contact detection method, which eliminates mechanical wear and ensures a long service life even in high-cycle applications. The M12 metal housing provides excellent protection against mechanical impact and environmental factors. With its integrated 2-meter cable, the installation process is simplified, reducing the need for additional connectors and minimizing potential points of failure in the wiring setup.
This sensor is specifically designed for detecting metal objects and will not function for non-metallic materials such as plastic, wood, or glass. It is also not intended for applications requiring long-range detection beyond the specified 4mm limit.
To install the sensor, mount it securely using the provided nuts on the M12 threaded body, ensuring the sensing face is positioned at the correct distance from the target metal object. Connect the three wires according to the standard color coding: brown for positive voltage, blue for ground, and black for the PNP output signal. Once powered, the sensor will detect metal within its 4mm range and trigger the output signal accordingly.
For optimal performance, ensure the sensor is mounted away from strong electromagnetic interference and keep the sensing face clean from heavy metal dust accumulation.
