Turtle Wax Polishing Disc, Medium/Hard, 170/150x25 mm, Yellow

The Turtle Wax Polishing Disc is a professional-grade foam pad engineered for effective automotive paint correction and surface refinement. Featuring a medium-to-hard density, this yellow polishing disc is specifically designed to tackle light scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation, helping to restore the original clarity and shine of your vehicle's paintwork. Its durable construction ensures consistent performance during the polishing process, making it a reliable tool for both enthusiasts and professionals seeking a high-quality finish.

Advantages

This polishing disc offers excellent versatility and control when used with standard rotary or dual-action polishing machines. The medium-to-hard foam structure provides the necessary cutting power to level out imperfections while maintaining enough flexibility to follow the contours of the vehicle body. Its optimized thickness of 25 mm allows for efficient heat dissipation and pressure distribution, which helps prevent overheating of the paint surface during extended use. The high-quality foam material is resistant to tearing and degradation, ensuring a long service life even with frequent application of polishing compounds.

Suitable for

• Removing light to moderate paint scratches
• Eliminating oxidation and dullness from clear coats
• Refining paint surfaces after heavy compounding
• Restoring gloss to faded automotive finishes

When it may not be suitable

This disc is not recommended for deep scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat to the primer or metal, as it is designed for surface refinement rather than heavy paint restoration. Additionally, it may be too aggressive for very soft or delicate paint types if used with high-speed rotary machines without proper technique.

Key specifications

• Diameter: 170 mm (outer) / 150 mm (inner)
• Thickness: 25 mm
• Density: Medium/Hard
• Color: Yellow
• Material: High-density foam

How to use

To use the Turtle Wax Polishing Disc, securely attach it to the backing plate of your polishing machine, ensuring it is centered to prevent vibrations. Apply a small amount of your chosen polishing compound directly onto the foam surface. Place the disc against the vehicle panel before starting the machine to avoid splatter. Work in small, overlapping sections using light to moderate pressure, moving the machine in a slow, controlled motion. Regularly clean the disc during the process to remove excess compound and paint residue, which helps maintain optimal cutting performance.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure the disc diameter matches your machine's backing plate size
• Verify the compatibility of your polishing compound with medium-hard foam pads
• Check the condition of your paint to ensure this level of abrasiveness is appropriate

Usage recommendations

Always perform a test spot on an inconspicuous area of the vehicle to ensure the desired results are achieved without damaging the paint. Keep the pad clean throughout the process and replace it if you notice signs of wear or foam breakdown.
