Turtle Wax Lock Defroster 50 ml

The Turtle Wax Lock Defroster 50 ml is an essential winter car maintenance product formulated to quickly and effectively melt ice inside frozen car door locks and padlocks. This reliable liquid penetrates narrow lock mechanisms to dissolve frost and ice on contact, ensuring you can easily access your vehicle during freezing weather conditions. Designed by Turtle Wax, this compact 50 ml defroster provides a practical solution for cold-weather challenges.

Advantages

This lock defroster features a concentrated formula that works rapidly to clear blocked mechanisms. Its penetrating design reaches deep inside narrow lock cylinders where ice accumulates, ensuring thorough thawing. Regular application helps prevent future freezing by displacing moisture within the lock. The compact container is easy to store in a glove compartment, door pocket, or home drawer for quick access whenever freezing temperatures strike.

Suitable for

• Melting ice in frozen car door locks
• Thawing padlocks on gates, sheds, and storage units
• Preventing moisture buildup and future freezing in lock cylinders
• Winter car maintenance and emergency cold-weather kits

When it may not be suitable

This product may not be effective if the lock mechanism is mechanically damaged, jammed by debris, or affected by heavy internal corrosion rather than ice. It is also not intended for de-icing large automotive surfaces, windshields, or frozen power windows.

Key specifications

• Volume: 50 ml
• Brand: Turtle Wax
• Application: Liquid lock defroster and anti-freeze agent

How to use

Shake the container well before use. Insert the nozzle tip carefully into the keyhole of the frozen lock. Apply a small amount of the liquid directly into the mechanism by pressing or squeezing the container. Allow the formula a few moments to penetrate and dissolve the ice. Gently insert the key and turn it slowly to work the liquid through the cylinder. Do not force the key if resistance persists; apply a little more defroster and wait briefly before trying again.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure the volume of 50 ml meets your winter maintenance frequency needs
• Check that the product is intended for standard mechanical locks and padlocks
• Store the container in a convenient location outside the vehicle if doors are completely frozen shut

Usage recommendations: Keep the bottle tightly closed and store it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and open flames. For best results during severe winter conditions, apply the defroster proactively before temperatures drop significantly or keep the product easily accessible outside of your locked vehicle.
