Roof/Wall Pipe Insulation Bend 45° UBBINK AERFOAM EPE 160
Roof/Wall Pipe Insulation Bend 45° UBBINK AERFOAM EPE 160
UBBINK AERFOAM EPE 160 Roof/Wall Pipe Insulation Bend 45° is a pre-formed closed-cell expanded polyethylene (EPE) bend designed to insulate 160 mm nominal diameter roof and wall pipe runs. The 45° geometry allows smooth direction changes in ventilation, drainage and service ducts while maintaining continuous thermal and acoustic protection. The product is tailored for easy on-site assembly and delivers consistent performance in reducing heat loss, controlling condensation and lowering airborne and structure-borne noise.
The pre-formed bend provides a precise fit around 160 mm nominal pipes, reducing the need for cutting and shaping on site. Closed-cell EPE construction offers low water absorption and stable thermal resistance, which helps limit condensation and maintain insulating performance over time. Lightweight and flexible, the bend is easy to handle and install in confined roof or wall cavities, while its continuous foam body minimises thermal bridging and acoustic leaks at directional changes.
Measure the nominal pipe diameter and align the pre-formed bend with the pipe run so the split or slot opens along the underside of the pipe. Close the two halves around the pipe and secure with suitable adhesive, tape or mechanical fasteners recommended for EPE insulation materials. Ensure joints between adjacent insulation sections are tightly butted to minimise thermal bridging and seal any exposed seams where needed to prevent moisture ingress. For vertical or angled installations in roof and wall assemblies, support the insulated pipe at regular intervals to avoid strain on joints.
Use compatible adhesives and tapes specified for closed-cell polyethylene to maintain a durable seal. Verify local building regulations for minimum insulation thickness and condensation control measures in roof and wall penetrations. Store the bend flat in a dry environment prior to installation and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent surface degradation.
