Smartphone microphone Ulanzi J12TC
The Ulanzi J12TC smartphone microphone is a compact, dual-mode audio solution designed for mobile recording. It supports both wired (USB) and wireless connections, delivering flexible placement and a maximum wireless range of up to 20 meters (approximately 65 ft). The microphone uses an omnidirectional condenser capsule for 360° sound pickup and includes an intelligent noise reduction module to reduce background noise. Powered by an 800 mAh battery, the unit provides up to 6 hours of continuous operation and comes in a durable ABS housing with push-button controls and a clip-on mini form factor for easy attachment to clothing.
The Ulanzi J12TC combines wired and wireless connectivity in one device, enabling plug-and-play operation without the need for a companion app. Its omnidirectional condenser design captures surround sound for a natural spatial impression, while the built-in noise reduction improves clarity in typical recording environments. The compact wireless-earbuds-style receiver case is lightweight for transport and stores the components neatly. The microphone supports dual-microphone setups for interviews, duet recordings, short videos and similar applications.
Attach the microphone to clothing using the integrated clip and switch it on. For wireless use, take the receiver from its storage case and plug it into the smartphone USB port; the microphone and receiver pair automatically without installing an app. For wired use, connect via the USB interface as required by your device. Enable OTG on compatible phones if needed (some models such as certain OPPO or VIVO devices require OTG to be enabled in system settings). Monitor recording levels on your device and position the microphone for optimal pickup of the subject.
For best results, place the microphone 10–30 cm from the speaker's mouth and avoid placing it directly against fabric to reduce rustling. When using two microphones simultaneously, check channel routing and levels before recording. Charge the microphone fully before extended sessions and keep the receiver case closed for transport to protect the connectors.
