The Ulanzi VL120 LED Video Light is a compact, tunable lighting solution that combines RGB color control with adjustable white balance from 2500 K to 9000 K. Designed for photography and video work, this fixture supports precise color mixing and smooth temperature shifts, enabling consistent illumination for portraits, product shots, vlogs and live streams. Its form factor allows on-camera mounting as well as placement on desks or light stands for small studio setups.
The VL120 offers both full RGB control and a wide white balance range, enabling creative color effects alongside accurate neutral lighting. Its compact size and lightweight construction make it easy to carry and mount. Controls provide intuitive adjustment of hue, saturation and temperature, while stable output and consistent color rendering support repeatable results across shoots.
Mount the VL120 on a camera hot shoe or on a compatible stand using the threaded mount. Power the unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions and use the onboard controls to select RGB mode or white balance. Adjust hue, saturation and brightness to achieve the desired color and intensity; set color temperature within the 2500–9000 K range for accurate skin tones or cooler daylight effects. Position the light to shape shadows and highlights as required for your subject.
For portrait and interview work, start with a neutral color temperature around 3200–5600 K and fine-tune brightness and angle to avoid harsh shadows. For product photography, use softer, diffused light or bounce the beam to reduce specular highlights. When using strong RGB colors, check white balance on your camera to ensure color accuracy in mixed-light scenes.
