UNIPAK Maxitape Teflon Tape for Steam Systems 12m
UNIPAK Maxitape Teflon Tape for Steam Systems 12m
UNIPAK Maxitape is a professional-grade PTFE sealing tape engineered for high-performance requirements in steam and hot water piping systems. This white Teflon tape provides a durable and reliable solution for sealing threaded connections, ensuring that joints remain leak-proof even under demanding conditions. Its specialized composition is designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, making it a dependable choice for both industrial heating installations and residential plumbing maintenance.
The primary advantage of UNIPAK Maxitape lies in its exceptional thermal stability, allowing it to function effectively across a wide temperature range from -200°C to 180°C. Because it is made of high-quality Teflon, it offers superior chemical resistance and prevents the seizing of threaded parts, which facilitates easier disassembly during future repairs. The tape is easy to apply and conforms well to various thread types, creating a tight seal without the need for additional liquid sealants or pastes.
This tape may not be suitable for applications involving high-pressure gas lines or oxygen systems where specific non-reactive lubricants or specialized sealants are required by safety regulations. It is also not intended for use on non-threaded connections or surfaces that require structural bonding.
To use UNIPAK Maxitape, ensure the threads are clean, dry, and free of debris or old sealant. Begin wrapping the tape around the male thread starting from the end of the pipe, moving in the direction of the thread. Overlap each layer by approximately half the width of the tape, applying sufficient tension to ensure it conforms to the thread profile. Continue wrapping until the desired thickness is achieved, then tear the tape and press the end firmly against the threads before screwing the connection together.
For optimal results, ensure that the tape is wrapped in the direction of the thread tightening to prevent it from unraveling during assembly. Do not over-apply the tape, as excessive thickness can cause stress on the female fitting.
