Acrylic Airbrush Paint VALLEJO True Metallic Metal 77.169 Celestial Violet (18 ml)

VALLEJO True Metallic Metal 77.169 Celestial Violet is an 18 ml acrylic airbrush paint formulated for airbrushing techniques. Part of the True Metallic Metal range, this paint produces a vivid metallic violet finish with fine metal flakes designed to reflect light evenly. The low-viscosity acrylic formulation ensures good atomization and consistent flow through a variety of airbrush types, enabling smooth layering, blending and controlled metallic effects on scale models, miniatures and decorative surfaces.

Advantages

This acrylic airbrush paint offers stable color and metallic sheen, formulated to maintain uniform particle distribution for reliable results across multiple passes. The 18 ml bottle is practical for hobbyists and professional modellers who need precise application without frequent refills. Its low-odour, water-based chemistry simplifies thinning and cleanup while being compatible with standard acrylic thinners and airbrush-ready mediums. The True Metallic Metal range is designed to produce reproducible metallic tones suitable for both subtle shadings and more pronounced highlights.

Suitable for

• Scale model painting (cars, aircraft, military miniatures)
• Tabletop miniatures and wargaming figures
• Hobby and diorama projects requiring metallic violet tones
• Decorative finishes on small objects, trim and detail work

When it may not be suitable

This product is optimized for airbrush application; direct use with brushes may produce visible brush strokes and uneven metallic distribution. For large-area coatings or surfaces that require heavy build-up, this 18 ml bottle and the low-viscosity formulation may be less efficient than larger-volume, higher-body paints. Surfaces with poor adhesion or heavy contamination may need priming or surface preparation before application.

Key specifications

• Volume: 18 ml
• Type: Acrylic airbrush paint with metallic pigments
• Finish: Metallic violet sheen
• Application method: Airbrush (suitable for fine atomization)
• Thinning: Water-based thinners or acrylic airbrush mediums recommended
• Cleanup: Water (while wet) or appropriate acrylic cleaner

How to use

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use to re-suspend metallic particles. Thin gradually with a compatible acrylic airbrush thinner or medium to achieve proper viscosity for your airbrush and nozzle size; typical reduction rates depend on equipment and desired effect. Test-spray on a scrap surface and adjust pressure and thinning until atomization is smooth and even. Apply multiple light coats rather than a single heavy coat to avoid runs and to preserve metallic sheen. Allow adequate drying time between layers and handle painted parts carefully until fully cured.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended application method — optimized for airbrush use
• Surface preparation — cleaning and priming improve adhesion and finish
• Compatibility with other acrylic products and clear coats
• Small bottle size — suitable for detail work but may require multiple bottles for large projects

Usage recommendations

For best results, use at recommended thinning ratios for your airbrush, apply several thin passes, and finish with a compatible clear coat if increased durability or different gloss level is required. Store upright, tightly closed, and out of direct sunlight to preserve paint quality.
