Acrylic Airbrush Paint VALLEJO True Metallic Metal Dusken Green 77.174 (18 ml)

VALLEJO True Metallic Metal Dusken Green 77.174 is an 18 ml acrylic airbrush paint formulated for controlled metallic effects. Part of the True Metallic range, this paint contains finely milled reflective particles suspended in an acrylic medium to produce a consistent metallic green finish suitable for models, miniatures, and scale detailing. The formula is designed for airbrush application but also supports brush work for fine detail when appropriately thinned.

Advantages

This acrylic airbrush paint provides stable metallic shimmer with good coverage in thin layers and predictable atomization through airbrushes. The pigment load and particle size are balanced to reduce clogging while maintaining visible metallic reflection. It is water-based and compatible with common acrylic varnishes and mediums, allowing layered effects and protective topcoats without adverse reactions.

Suitable for

• Scale models and model vehicles where metallic green accents are required
• Miniatures and tabletop figures for armor, equipment, or decorative finishes
• Hobby projects, dioramas, and display pieces needing reflective metallic surfaces
• Airbrush applications and controlled brush glazing for small details

When it may not be suitable

This product is optimized for airbrush use and fine detail work; it may not be ideal for large-area coverage without multiple coats or a primer layer. Very coarse textures or porous substrates may require sealing or priming first to achieve an even metallic appearance. As with all metallic paints, achieving a perfectly uniform finish may require practice with thinning and spray control.

Key specifications

• Type: Water-based acrylic metallic paint
• Finish: Metallic green with reflective particles
• Volume: 18 ml
• Application method: Airbrush (recommended), brush for detail when thinned
• Compatibility: Works with acrylic varnishes and acrylic mediums

How to use

Shake the bottle well before use to distribute metallic particles evenly. For airbrush application, thin gradually with an appropriate acrylic thinner or distilled water until achieving the desired viscosity and atomization—start with small increments to avoid over-thinning. Spray light, even passes at recommended airbrush pressure for your setup, allowing thin layers to build color and reflectivity. For brush detail, thin more than for the airbrush to maintain smooth flow and avoid visible brush strokes. Allow adequate drying time between coats and finish with a compatible varnish to protect the metallic surface.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended application method (airbrush recommended for best metallic effect)
• Need for priming or sealing porous or previously painted surfaces
• Requirement to thin for proper atomization and to avoid clogging
• Compatibility with any varnishes or mediums you plan to use

Usage recommendations

For consistent metallic results, use light, multiple thin layers rather than one heavy coat, maintain an even airbrush distance, and protect the finished surface with a compatible acrylic varnish once fully dry.
