VALLEJO True Metallic Metal Airbrush Paint 77.176 Greenish Gold (18 ml)

VALLEJO True Metallic Metal 77.176 Greenish Gold (18 ml) is an airbrush-compatible metallic paint formulated to deliver a smooth, reflective greenish-gold finish on scale models, miniatures, and hobby projects. Supplied in an 18 ml bottle, the paint is designed for consistent flow through airbrushes and for achieving metallic effects with good coverage when applied over suitable primers and under sealers.

Advantages

This metallic paint offers a fine particle dispersion and stable formulation to reduce clogging and provide an even, lustrous sheen. Its viscosity and pigmentation are balanced for airbrush use, enabling controlled layering and uniform metallic appearance. The product dries to a durable finish when used in combination with compatible primers and topcoats, supporting long-term adhesion and resistance to handling.

Suitable for

• Scale model kits (ships, aircraft, armor) requiring metallic surfaces
• Miniatures and figures where a greenish-gold metallic accent is desired
• Hobby projects and props that need a reflective metallic coating
• Airbrush applications where smooth flow and fine control are important

When it may not be suitable

This paint is formulated specifically for airbrush use; direct application with a brush may result in uneven metallic texture and visible brush strokes. It is not a primer or sealer, so applying it onto bare plastic or porous surfaces without appropriate primers may lead to poor adhesion or patchy coverage. For non-metallic colors or opaque coverage needs, alternative opaque paints may be more appropriate.

Key specifications

• Finish: Metallic, reflective greenish-gold
• Volume: 18 ml
• Application method: Airbrush-compatible formula
• Drying behavior: Dries to a durable metallic film when used with primers and sealers
• Coverage: Designed for even layering and buildable metallic effect

How to use

Shake the bottle well before use to ensure even dispersion of metallic pigments. Thin the paint as recommended by the airbrush manufacturer or according to your airbrush setup to achieve the desired viscosity and spray pattern. Apply in thin, even passes, allowing light drying between coats to build up coverage and depth. For best adhesion and durability, prime the surface with a compatible primer and protect the finished paint with an appropriate sealer or varnish after full drying.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended application method: optimized for airbrush use rather than brush application
• Need for primer and sealer to achieve durable adhesion and optimal metallic effect
• Compatibility with other paints and varnishes used in your workflow
• Required thinning and airbrush settings for your specific equipment

Usage recommendations

For consistent metallic results, use a medium-fine airbrush nozzle, thin the paint to match your airbrush specifications, apply multiple light coats rather than a single heavy coat, and finish with a clear varnish appropriate to the desired gloss level.
