Compression fitting Varioterm GW 3/4 x Alu Pex 16x2 CHROM for 16 mm multilayer pipe

Compression fitting Varioterm GW 3/4 x Alu Pex 16x2 CHROM is a mechanical connector designed for 16 mm (16x2) aluminium‑PEX multilayer pipes. The fitting provides a female 3/4" threaded connection (GW) to join piping runs or connect pipes to valves, radiators and fixtures. A chrome surface finish improves corrosion resistance and delivers a clean, technical appearance suitable for visible installations in heating and potable water systems.

Advantages

This compression fitting offers a reliable mechanical joint without the need for soldering or specialized tools beyond standard wrenches. The design is compatible with 16 mm multilayer Alu‑PEX pipe of 16x2 dimension, ensuring a secure grip on the pipe sleeve and stable hydraulic performance. The chrome finish provides additional protection against moisture and chemical exposure typical for heating and plumbing environments while maintaining an unobtrusive, professional look.

Suitable for

• Connecting 16 mm aluminium‑PEX multilayer pipes to valves and radiators
• Creating threaded terminations in heating distribution systems
• Plumbing installations with potable water lines where a mechanical connection is preferred
• Repairs and replacements in visible or partially exposed pipe runs

Key specifications

• Pipe compatibility: multilayer aluminium‑PEX, 16 mm nominal diameter, 16x2 wall
• Threaded connection: female 3/4" (GW) for standard plumbing fittings
• Connection type: compression fitting for mechanical sealing
• Surface finish: chrome plating for corrosion resistance and appearance
• Application: suitable for heating systems and potable water installations

How to use

Ensure the multilayer pipe is cut squarely and the end is free of burrs and debris. Slide the compression nut and ferrule onto the pipe, insert the pipe end fully into the fitting body until it seats, then hand‑tighten the nut onto the fitting threads. Use appropriate wrenches to tighten to the manufacturer's recommended torque for compression fittings of this type, checking alignment to avoid stress on the joint. After installation, pressurize and inspect the connection for leaks according to system testing procedures.

Usage recommendations

Use compatible pipe dimensions (16x2) and components intended for aluminium‑PEX systems. Avoid excessive bending near the joint and check that mating threaded fittings are sealed correctly using suitable sealing material where required. Follow local building codes and system manufacturer guidelines for installation and pressure testing.
