Veracity LONGSTAR VLS-1P-BC is a single-port PoE extender that increases the reach of Power over Ethernet links by an additional segment of up to 100 m. The device preserves both data and power delivery for compatible PoE equipment, enabling installation of IP cameras, wireless access points and other remote devices beyond the typical 100 m Ethernet cable limitation. The compact unit is intended for inline mounting within an Ethernet run to simplify cabling and reduce the need for separate local power supplies.
The PoE extender supports continuous power and data transmission across extended cable runs without requiring a local power source at the remote device. It is compatible with standard Ethernet infrastructure and can be inserted into existing cabling with minimal disruption. By extending reach up to 100 m per segment, the device enables flexible placement of networked devices and can reduce installation cost and complexity where mains power is unavailable. The single-port design keeps installation straightforward and space-efficient.
Install the Veracity LONGSTAR VLS-1P-BC inline between the powered switch or midspan injector and the remote PoE device. Connect the uplink cable from the PoE source to the extender input, then connect the extender output to the PoE device using standard Ethernet cabling. Ensure cable runs do not exceed recommended distances per segment and verify that the power budget of the PoE source supports the connected device plus any cable losses. No local mains connection is required at the extender; the unit passes power downstream from the PoE source.
Plan cable distances and power budgets before installation: confirm that the combined lengths of the original run and the extender segment are within system limits and that the switch or injector can supply sufficient wattage. Use quality, shielded or unshielded twisted-pair cable of appropriate category for the network speed required, and follow standard installation best practices to protect outdoor or exposed runs with suitable enclosures or conduit.
