UPS Vertiv Liebert GXT5 3 kVA (3000 W) Double-conversion Online, 7 AC outlets, Rack/Tower 2U, VRLA battery
Vertiv Liebert GXT5 3 kVA (3000 W) is a double-conversion (Online) UPS designed for 2U rack or tower installation. The unit provides continuous conditioned power and battery backup for servers, networking equipment and critical IT installations. It supports user-configurable single-phase AC output voltages (200/208/220/230/240 V), features seven AC outlets (combination of C13/C19), a C20 input plug and an internal sealed lead‑acid (VRLA) battery. Typical runtime is approximately 3.3 minutes at full load and around 10.8 minutes at half load. The product includes rack mounting hardware and a tower base for flexible deployment and offers scalable runtime with optional external battery cabinets and hot‑swappable internal batteries for extended backup.
The Liebert GXT5 uses online double-conversion topology to provide continuous voltage and frequency regulation without transfer to battery during normal operation, which preserves battery life and ensures stable output during power disturbances. The unit delivers a unity power factor (1.0) to maximize usable output power and supports programmable outlets to prioritize critical loads and optimize battery usage. Energy-efficient design meets ENERGY STAR 2.0 criteria for improved efficiency, and an intuitive color graphic display with gravity-sensing mounting simplifies installation and operation in both rack and tower orientations.
Install the UPS in a 19-inch rack using the included mounting kit or place it on a flat surface using the supplied tower base. Configure the desired output voltage and program outlet groups through the front panel display or network management card, and connect critical equipment to the prioritized outlets. For extended runtime, connect compatible external battery cabinets according to the manufacturer instructions. Monitor battery health and runtime information locally via the color graphic display or remotely using the network management interface. Replace or hot-swap internal batteries in accordance with the maintenance schedule and safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer.
Place the UPS in a ventilated, temperature-controlled environment and avoid exposing it to excessive dust or moisture. Verify load levels and configure programmable outlets to ensure essential equipment receives uninterrupted power first. Schedule periodic battery tests and follow manufacturer guidance for battery replacement intervals. For deployments requiring longer backup time, plan for external battery cabinets and consult Vertiv documentation or a certified partner for compatibility and runtime calculations.
