Shade Sail VidaXL model 311304 HDPE 160 g/m² light green 6 x 7 m
The vidaXL Shade Sail model 311304 is a 6 x 7 m outdoor sunshade made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fabric with a fabric weight of 160 g/m². This light green rectangular sail is designed to reduce sunlight, heat and UV exposure in outdoor areas while allowing airflow through the breathable material. It is intended for tensioned corner attachment to fixed points such as posts, walls or pergolas and provides large-area shading for patios, gardens, terraces and play areas.
The HDPE material with a density of 160 g/m² combines durability with breathability, reducing heat buildup beneath the sail while blocking a significant portion of direct sunlight and UV rays. The rectangular 6 x 7 m size covers a wide area and the lightweight fabric is resistant to mildew and rot, making it suitable for longer outdoor use. The neutral light green color integrates with garden and terrace environments and the design enables straightforward tensioned installation at the corners for a flat, effective shade.
This shade sail is not intended as a fully waterproof cover; the HDPE fabric is breathable and will allow some water passage during heavy rain. It also requires sturdy, fixed anchor points capable of handling the tension forces; locations without such points or with weak mounting structures are not suitable without additional reinforcement. For situations requiring complete rain protection or rigid structural support, an alternative product such as a waterproof canopy or solid roof would be more appropriate.
Install the shade sail by selecting four secure anchor points arranged to match the rectangular 6 x 7 m layout. Use turnbuckles, stainless steel D-rings or other suitable tensioning hardware (not included) to attach each corner and gradually tighten to achieve a tensioned, wrinkle-free surface. Position the sail with a slight slope to allow water runoff and avoid pooling. Regularly inspect mounting points and tensioning hardware; loosen the sail before severe weather or high winds to prevent damage.
For best performance, mount the sail with robust fixtures and allow a slope for drainage; combine multiple sails or overlap edges to increase shaded area while maintaining airflow. Periodically clean the fabric with mild soap and water and store it dry when not in use to extend service life.
