Sun Shade Sail VidaXL 160 g/m² HDPE Yellow 4/5 x 3 m
Sun Shade Sail VidaXL 160 g/m² HDPE Yellow 4/5 x 3 m
VidaXL Sun Shade Sail made from 160 g/m² high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in yellow, sized 4/5 x 3 m, is designed to provide effective sun protection for outdoor seating and leisure areas. The breathable HDPE fabric reduces direct sunlight and heat while maintaining airflow, helping create a more comfortable shaded area on patios, terraces and in gardens. The triangular sail shape and lightweight construction allow flexible mounting between posts, walls or pergolas to tailor coverage to specific outdoor layouts.
The shade sail combines a 160 g/m² HDPE fabric that balances sun blocking with ventilation, reducing heat buildup beneath the canopy. Its yellow colour contributes visible, bright shading without fully darkening the space. The lightweight material is easy to handle and install, and the triangular 4/5 x 3 m size provides adaptable coverage when tensioned between three anchoring points. The fabric resists ordinary outdoor wear and allows water and air to pass through, which minimises pooling and wind resistance.
This sun shade sail is not intended as a permanent waterproof roof; the breathable HDPE fabric permits water to pass through and will not provide full rain protection. In very exposed, windy locations the lightweight sail can experience high wind loads and may require frequent tensioning or more robust fixing systems. It is not designed to carry heavy loads or to be used as a structural element.
Choose three secure anchoring points such as posts, wall brackets or pergola beams arranged to provide the desired angle and tension. Unfold the sail and attach each corner with suitable outdoor tensioning hardware (turnbuckles, D-shackles, pad eyes or carabiners rated for outdoor use). Apply even tension to avoid sagging and to maintain an aerodynamic profile that reduces wind lift. Periodically check and retension the fixings, especially after strong winds or temperature changes. For storage, clean and dry the fabric thoroughly before folding and keep it in a dry storage bag to prolong service life.
Use corrosion-resistant hardware for outdoor installation, maintain correct tension to avoid fabric flapping, and remove the sail during storms or heavy snowfall. Clean with mild soap and water, and store dry when not in use to extend the life of the HDPE fabric.
