Sweeping broom Vikan 31783 — soft slotted head, polypropylene bristles with stainless steel strip, 41 cm

Vikan 31783 sweeping broom head is a 41 cm slotted head with soft polypropylene bristles reinforced by an integrated stainless steel strip. The slotted design helps capture fine dust and small debris on smooth indoor surfaces, while the soft bristles provide gentle contact to avoid surface damage. This broom head is intended for use with compatible Vikan handles and is suitable for environments that require regular floor maintenance, such as commercial kitchens, workshops and warehouses.

Advantages

The soft polypropylene bristles combined with a stainless steel strip give a balance of flexibility and stability: the bristles conform to uneven floor textures while the metal reinforcement maintains head shape and even pressure distribution. The slotted head improves debris pickup and retention, reducing the need for multiple passes. Constructed from chemical-resistant materials, the broom head is easy to clean and suitable for environments where hygiene and durability are important.

Suitable for

• Sweeping fine dust and small debris on smooth indoor floors
• Floor maintenance in commercial kitchens and food-preparation areas
• General cleaning in workshops, warehouses and retail spaces
• Areas where a soft-bristle broom is preferred to avoid surface scratching

When it may not be suitable

This soft slotted broom head is not intended for heavy-duty debris such as large stones, wet mud or compacted material; such tasks require a stiffer broom or specialized scraper. It is also less effective on very rough or highly textured outdoor surfaces where bristles cannot reach deep grooves and slots may clog with large particles.

Key specifications

• Working width: 41 cm
• Bristle material: polypropylene (soft)
• Reinforcement: stainless steel strip integrated into head
• Head type: slotted design for improved debris pickup
• Typical use areas: indoor smooth floors, commercial and industrial settings

How to use

Attach the Vikan 31783 broom head to a compatible handle following the handle manufacturer's instructions until secure. Use firm, even strokes at a shallow angle to the floor so the slotted head and soft bristles collect fine dust and light debris efficiently. For best results on larger areas, work in overlapping passes and periodically inspect the slots for buildup; remove accumulated debris from the head to maintain performance. Clean the head with water and a mild detergent if required and allow to dry before storage.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm compatibility with your existing handle or budget for a compatible Vikan handle
• Assess typical debris types—fine dust and light debris are suitable; heavy, wet or large debris are not
• Consider required hygiene standards and whether chemical resistance and ease of cleaning are important

Usage recommendations

For routine indoor floor maintenance, use the Vikan 31783 with a lightweight handle and perform regular cleaning of the head to prevent slot clogging. Replace the head when bristle wear reduces sweeping efficiency or when the stainless steel strip shows signs of corrosion from prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals.
