Cuttlebone for Birds Vitapol Sepia large 14–16 cm, blister pack, carton 24 pcs
Vitapol Sepia large cuttlebone for birds, 14–16 cm in length, supplied in individual blister packs and packed as a carton of 24 pieces. This natural cuttlebone is a source of calcium and trace minerals and serves as a hard surface for beak maintenance. Designed for use in aviaries and cages, the Sepia provides mineral supplementation that supports healthy egg shell formation and contributes to normal bone development in many pet bird species.
The Vitapol Sepia cuttlebone offers a natural, easily accessible source of calcium and mineral grit suitable for daily use. Its 14–16 cm size fits a wide range of small to medium pet birds and can be mounted or placed in the cage for continuous access. Being a solid, inert natural product, it helps maintain beak length and shape through gnawing and abrasion while providing minerals without additives or chemical treatments.
Not all bird species have the same calcium requirements; birds with specific dietary plans or medical conditions should receive supplements only under veterinary advice. Very large parrot species may require a bigger or more robust form of cuttlebone or alternative calcium supplements better suited to their beak strength and body size.
Mount or place the cuttlebone inside the cage or aviary where birds can reach it easily. Secure the blister or the cuttlebone holder so it remains stable while the birds peck and gnaw. Replace the cuttlebone when it becomes significantly worn, fractured, or soiled. Monitor consumption to ensure birds use it appropriately; for breeding or laying birds, provide continuous access during the egg-laying period to support shell formation.
Offer the Vitapol Sepia cuttlebone as part of a balanced diet and observe birds for normal intake. For birds with elevated calcium needs, such as hens during breeding, maintain continuous availability and consult a veterinarian if you notice abnormal consumption or health changes.
