How to use

Connect the VLEXT100 to your network using the 10/100M Ethernet port and provide power via a 12–24V DC supply or PoE. Attach serial devices to the RS-232 or RS-485 terminals using the supplied Phoenix connectors and connect any required IR or GPIO lines. Access the built-in web server from a browser on PC, tablet, or smartphone to configure network settings, protocol options (TCP/UDP) and serial port parameters. After configuration, control commands can be sent over TCP/IP or UDP to communicate with connected serial AV equipment.

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation, mount the VLEXT100 in a ventilated area and use shielded Ethernet and serial cabling where possible. Ensure firmware is kept up to date and configure appropriate network security settings when exposing the device on larger networks.
