Cable stripper Vorel 45160, length 160 mm, hand tool for insulation removal

Vorel 45160 cable stripper is a handheld tool for removing insulation from electrical cables. At 160 mm in length and supplied in single-piece packaging, it is intended for manual stripping tasks on various cable types. The tool is designed to prepare wires for termination and splicing without the need for power tools, providing a compact option for electricians and installation work.

Advantages

The design incorporates working jaw tips made of hardened steel to improve wear resistance during repeated use. Handles are protected by two-component plastic caps for a secure grip and improved handling. The tool is fitted with an automatic stripping mechanism that covers a wide range of conductor cross-sections, enabling consistent insulation removal from both round and flat wires. A cutting feature allows conductors to be shortened or separated as part of preparatory work.

Suitable for

• Stripping insulation from round and flat electrical conductors
• Preparing wires for termination, connectors, and splicing
• Electrical installation and maintenance tasks in residential and commercial settings
• Work requiring a compact, manual stripping tool without power supply

Key specifications

• Length: 160 mm
• Stripping range: 0.25 mm² to 6.0 mm² (suitable for small to medium conductor cross-sections)
• Working jaw material: hardened steel tips
• Handle grips: two-component plastic caps for improved grip
• Surface treatment: blackened finish for corrosion resistance
• Functions: automatic insulation stripping and wire cutting

How to use

Place the conductor into the stripping jaws at the required position, squeeze the handles to engage the automatic mechanism, and pull the tool along the cable or allow the mechanism to withdraw the insulation as designed. Use the cutting feature where conductor length needs adjustment by positioning the wire in the cutting area and closing the handles to cut. Inspect the stripped conductor to ensure the conductor strands are intact and the insulation is removed to the required length before making terminations or splices.

Usage recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow local electrical safety practices. Verify that the cable is de-energized before stripping. Select the correct part of the jaw and follow a controlled movement to avoid damage to conductor strands. Store the tool in a dry place to preserve the blackened surface and hardened working tips.
