Watercool 16070 is an aluminium backplate designed for computer liquid-cooling systems, finished in black and supplied as a single piece. It functions as a mounting and reinforcement component for water blocks and GPU cooling assemblies, increasing mechanical stability and helping to distribute mounting pressure more evenly across the motherboard or graphics card PCB. The backplate also provides passive cooling to rear-side components such as VRM areas and the GPU die vicinity when used with compatible water blocks.

How to use

Fit the backplate to the rear of the graphics card PCB aligning mounting holes with the water block and card standoffs. Place the included precut thermal pads between the backplate and the targeted PCB components to enable heat transfer, and use the supplied mounting hardware to secure the assembly. Ensure isolating spacers remain between the backplate and PCB to prevent electrical contact. Follow the mounting instructions provided with your water block; minor adaptation of mounting material may be required for non-HEATKILLER® IV blocks.

Usage recommendations

Use the backplate with compatible full-cover GPU water blocks for optimal rear-side cooling and mechanical support. Verify alignment and spacing before tightening fasteners and confirm that insulating spacers are correctly placed to avoid electrical shorts.
