Weldline Teflon Wire Liner for MIG/MAG Welding Torches 1.0-1.2mm 4m
The Weldline Teflon wire liner is a high-quality replacement component engineered for MIG/MAG welding torches, specifically designed to facilitate the smooth and reliable feeding of welding wire. With a length of 4 meters, this liner is optimized for use with welding wires ranging from 1.0mm to 1.2mm in diameter. By reducing friction within the torch cable, it ensures a consistent wire feed, which is critical for maintaining a stable arc and achieving high-quality weld beads in professional welding environments.
The primary benefit of using a Teflon liner is its low coefficient of friction, which significantly minimizes resistance when feeding soft or delicate wires through the torch. This material property is particularly effective at preventing wire deformation and bird-nesting, common issues encountered when using aluminum or other soft alloy wires. By maintaining a clean and unobstructed path, the liner helps to extend the service life of the torch consumables and improves overall welding efficiency by reducing downtime caused by wire jams.
This liner may not be suitable for applications involving high-heat welding processes where the torch cable is subjected to extreme temperatures that could exceed the thermal resistance limits of the Teflon material. Additionally, it is not intended for use with hard steel wires, as these may cause premature wear or scoring of the inner surface of the liner.
To install the liner, first ensure the welding machine is powered off and the torch is disconnected from the power source. Remove the existing liner by unscrewing the retaining nut at the torch connector. Carefully insert the new Weldline Teflon liner through the torch cable until it reaches the contact tip. Trim the excess length of the liner at the torch end according to the manufacturer's specific torch assembly instructions, ensuring a precise fit to prevent wire kinking. Secure the liner in place and reattach the torch to the wire feeder.
Regularly inspect the liner for signs of wear or debris buildup, especially when switching between different types of welding wire. Keeping the wire clean and free of contaminants before it enters the feeder will significantly prolong the lifespan of the Teflon liner.
