Wiha 369/4.0 L-shaped hex key metric chromium-vanadium steel

The Wiha 369/4.0 L-shaped hex key metric chromium-vanadium steel is a precision hand tool engineered for driving hexagonal socket fasteners with reliability and ease. Manufactured by Wiha, this metric hex key combines a durable construction with practical dimensions, featuring a long arm size of 14.2 cm and a short arm size of 2.9 cm to offer optimal leverage and access in various mechanical tasks. Designed to meet professional standards, it serves as an essential addition to any toolkit for assembly, maintenance, and repair work.

Advantages

This hex key is constructed from high-grade chromium-vanadium steel that has been through-hardened and chrome-plated, ensuring exceptional durability, resistance to wear, and long-lasting protection against corrosion. The inclusion of a functional ball end allows users to work smoothly at angles up to 25 degrees, significantly improving accessibility when dealing with fasteners located in restricted or hard-to-reach areas. The balanced geometry provides secure torque transfer and reduces the risk of slipping during operation.

Suitable for

• Driving hexagonal socket fasteners in mechanical assemblies
• Maintenance and repair tasks involving hard-to-reach screws
• Professional workshop environments and DIY projects
• Angled fastening applications up to 25 degrees

When it may not be suitable

This tool is not designed for high-torque power tool applications or for driving non-hexagonal fasteners. It may also be less effective if used on heavily damaged or stripped screw heads where standard hex sockets fail to grip properly.

Key specifications

• Material: Chrome-vanadium steel
• Finish: Chrome-plated and through-hardened
• Standard: Based on ISO 2936L
• Long arm length: 14.2 cm
• Short arm length: 2.9 cm
• Drive type: Metric hexagonal with ball end

How to use

Select the correct metric hex key size that matches the hexagonal socket fastener. Insert the tool fully into the screw head to ensure a secure fit and prevent rounding. For fasteners located in tight spaces, utilize the ball end feature to approach the screw at an angle of up to 25 degrees while applying steady rotational force. Turn clockwise to tighten or counter-clockwise to loosen the fastener.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the metric 4.0 mm size matches your specific fastener requirements
• Assess whether you frequently encounter hard-to-reach screws that benefit from a ball end design
• Check the arm lengths to ensure they provide sufficient clearance for your intended workspace

For optimal longevity and performance, keep the hex key clean and dry after use, and store it in a tool holder or dry environment to protect the chrome-plated surface from moisture.
