Sharpening bands set, Work Sharp, 5-pack for Ken Onion Edition (09DX023)
Sharpening bands set, Work Sharp, 5-pack for Ken Onion Edition (09DX023)
Work Sharp sharpening bands set for the Ken Onion Edition is a five-piece pack of replacement abrasive bands designed to fit compatible Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition sharpeners. These consumable bands restore the abrasive surface used to grind and refine edges, enabling routine maintenance, edge restoration and repeated sharpening tasks without the need for tool disassembly. The set provides a quick and simple way to renew the sharpening surface and maintain consistent performance of the sharpener.
The set contains five ready-to-install abrasive bands that are matched to the diameter and grit profile required by the Ken Onion Edition, allowing fast replacement and minimal downtime. Using original-fit bands ensures uniform contact with the platen and consistent abrasion across the edge, which helps achieve repeatable results. The bands are suitable for a range of edge conditioning tasks from material removal to initial shaping, depending on the grit of the installed band.
This set is intended specifically for use with Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition style sharpeners. It may not fit non-compatible models or other brands of belt/band sharpeners. The bands are consumable and wear with use; for very fine finishing or polishing you will need to use finer abrasives or stropping accessories not included in this set.
Install a replacement band by following the sharpener manufacturer’s instructions: power off the unit, release the tension mechanism, remove the worn band and fit a new band onto the platen. Restore proper tension and alignment, then power on and test on a sacrificial edge or coarse scrap to confirm correct tracking. Work with light, controlled strokes and maintain a consistent angle to avoid excessive material removal. Replace bands when abrasive effectiveness diminishes or the band shows visible wear.
Use the bands in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate eye protection. For best results, pair these replacement abrasive bands with controlled pressure and consistent angle techniques; finish edges with finer abrasives or strops when a polished edge is required.
