The YATO YT-6248 masonry chisel is supplied as a single piece per pack and is designed for cutting, shaping and removing mortar, brick and other masonry materials. It is intended for manual chisel work and can be used with compatible powered tools when the tool interface and safety requirements allow. Advantages

The YATO YT-6248 combines a hardened CRV60 steel blade with a wooden handle that is adapted for striking, providing resistance to repeated blows. The blade is heat-treated to a high hardness range to retain an edge during chiselling of masonry. A metal ferrule reinforces the handle to reduce splitting under impact. Supplied as a single unit, the tool is ready for immediate use on site or in a workshop.

How to use

Select an appropriate chisel angle and position the blade against the masonry surface where material is to be removed. Hold the wooden handle firmly and strike the handle with a suitable hammer or mallet if performing manual chiselling. For use with compatible powered tools, ensure the chisel is correctly mounted and follow the powered tool manufacturer’s instructions. Always work in short controlled blows to avoid over‑removal of material and to maintain control of the tool.

Usage recommendations

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Inspect the chisel before use for any signs of damage to the blade or handle and replace if compromised. Keep the cutting edge free of large nicks; sharpen or dress the blade as needed following safe sharpening procedures.
