Sealed Lead Acid Battery Yuasa NP2.3-12 12V 2300mAh (VRLA), single cell
Yuasa NP2.3-12 is a sealed lead acid (VRLA) rechargeable battery with a nominal voltage of 12 V and a rated capacity of 2300 mAh supplied as a single cell. Designed as part of the NP Series, this valve-regulated battery uses oxygen recombination and an electrolyte suspension system to minimise maintenance and reduce self-discharge. The sealed construction prevents electrolyte leakage and incorporates a pressure venting system to release excess gas if required. Its design supports both float (standby) and cyclic (portable or repeated-discharge) applications and allows installation in most orientations except continuous inverted positions.
The NP2.3-12 provides superior energy density with lead-calcium grid construction for extended service life and improved recovery after deep discharge. Its valve-regulated design with gas recombination reduces water loss and extends maintenance intervals, while sealed construction eliminates the need for routine electrolyte checks. The battery can be stored for extended periods — up to a year under recommended conditions — and is suitable for environments where a compact, maintenance-free 12 V power source is required.
Install the NP2.3-12 following standard safety practices for lead-acid batteries: ensure correct polarity and secure connections to avoid loose contacts. Use a compatible charger or charging algorithm for sealed lead-acid batteries, typically a controlled constant-voltage charger with appropriate current limit and temperature compensation if available. For float/standby service, maintain the recommended float voltage; for cyclic use, follow the manufacturer’s recommended charge and discharge parameters to maximise cycle life. Allow the battery to reach ambient temperature before charging if it has been stored or transported in extreme temperatures.
Store the battery in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Avoid deep discharging whenever possible; if deep discharge occurs, recharge promptly. Inspect terminals for corrosion and ensure connections remain tight. Dispose of or recycle the battery according to local regulations for lead-acid batteries.
