How to use

Rinse the perlon wool under tap water until the rinsed water runs clear to remove any packing dust. Tear or cut the required amount and shape it to fit the filter pad tray, sock or chamber, ensuring not to compress it excessively to maintain flow. Place it upstream of biological media and pumps so it catches debris before water passes to other media. Replace the wool regularly when visibly clogged or when flow rate decreases significantly.

Usage recommendations

For best results, use perlon wool as the first mechanical stage and combine it with coarse pre-filter foam if heavy debris is expected. Change smaller portions more frequently rather than waiting for the entire bulk to clog, and avoid packing the wool too tightly to prevent reduced water flow and strain on pumps.
