Access control reader 2N 9160342
The 2N 9160342 Access control reader is an IP-enabled RFID reader and controller that reduces cabling and on-site maintenance. It supports 13.56 MHz RFID and NFC for card or mobile-phone access and connects directly to an Ethernet network with support for 10/100/1000 Mbit/s and Power over Ethernet (PoE). The unit accepts a door lock, exit button and door contact wired directly to the reader, providing a compact solution for secure access management.
The reader combines reader and controller functions in a single device to avoid separate control panels and extra wiring. It supports NFC and 13.56 MHz RFID credentials, works over standard network protocols (DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, TFTP, SMTP, Syslog) and can be powered via PoE or a DC supply (8–12 V). With a PoE power output of 12.95 W and typical current draw of 600 mA, it is suitable for installations where simplified cabling and remote management are required.
Install the reader at the required door location and connect it to the IP network using an Ethernet cable. Wire the door lock, exit button and door contact directly to the reader’s I/O terminals according to the installation manual. Configure network settings and access rules using the device’s web interface over HTTP/HTTPS or via your access control management system that supports the device’s protocols. End users can present a 13.56 MHz card or use NFC on a compatible smartphone to gain entry.
Use Power over Ethernet where possible for simplified cabling; if PoE is not available, provide a stable 8–12 V DC supply. Ensure firmware is kept up to date and secure the device’s management interface with HTTPS and strong credentials. Follow local regulations for door hardware installation and testing.
