Wire Connector 3M UY2 Orange Transparent

The 3M UY2 wire connector is a compact solvent-resistant connector for joining two solid copper conductors. Its small size reduces the splicing bundle outer diameter and accommodates two conductors that may be of different gauges. The connector is made of durable plastic and is available in an orange transparent colour for easy identification; a dry version is offered as UY2-D.

How to use

Strip the solid copper conductors to the appropriate length, insert each conductor into one of the two ports until fully seated, and ensure the insulation O.D. does not exceed 0.082 in (2.08 mm). For the sealed UY2, the factory-inserted sealant will cover the connection; for the UY2-D use as a dry connector per application requirements. Confirm mechanical and electrical continuity after installation and place the splice in an appropriate enclosure if additional protection is required.

Usage recommendations

Use the UY2 for straight-through splices of solid copper conductors within the specified AWG range. Avoid using on stranded conductors or on insulation exceeding the specified outer diameter. Choose the UY2-D when a dry connector is required and select appropriate packaging for your workflow (box, bulk, bin or cartridge).
