Gas detector Methane ABUS GWM100ME
The ABUS GWM100ME is a methane gas detector designed to provide early warning of dangerous methane (natural gas) leaks in homes and commercial spaces. It detects small concentrations of highly flammable methane and triggers an alarm to reduce the risk of ignition and explosion. The unit is powered from AC mains (220–240 V, 50–60 Hz), comes in white, and is supplied as a single device with a compact housing (75 mm × 36.5 mm × 115 mm).
The ABUS GWM100ME offers reliable, continuous monitoring of methane gas with fast detection of low concentrations. Its compact dimensions make it easy to install in kitchens, boiler rooms or other indoor areas where natural gas is used. Mains power operation ensures constant readiness without the need for frequent battery replacement.
Install the detector on a wall in the room where methane may be present, following the manufacturer’s positioning guidance for gas detectors (typically near the ceiling or according to local regulations). Connect the unit to a 220–240 V AC mains supply. After powering, allow the detector to complete any internal self-checks; the device will sound an alarm if methane is detected above its threshold. If the alarm triggers, ventilate the area immediately, avoid creating sparks or switching electrical devices, and shut off the gas supply if it is safe to do so. Contact qualified personnel to inspect and repair the gas system.
Place the detector where gas is likely to accumulate and follow local installation standards. Test the alarm according to the manufacturer’s instructions and arrange regular professional inspection of gas appliances and fittings to maintain safety.
