Wired siren ABUS SG1650
The ABUS SG1650 wired siren is a compact combination signalling device with integrated Xenon strobe, designed for indoor and outdoor installation. It provides an audible alarm with a sound pressure of 110 dB and an optical alert from a red Xenon flash. The unit has a weatherproof aluminium housing rated IP34 and includes tamper protection via wall and cover contacts plus an internal grill. The siren is powered externally at 12 V DC and supports separate control of the sounder and strobe.
The SG1650 delivers a high sound output (110 dB) and a high-performance Xenon flash (flash frequency 70/minute / 0.8 Hz) in a compact 300 x 190 x 115 mm housing. Its aluminium, weather-resistant enclosure (IP34) and built-in tamper contacts reduce the risk of sabotage. Separate control of the audible and optical outputs allows flexible alarm configurations. Power consumption is specified at up to 750 mA with the Xenon strobe fitted and 350 mA without.
Mount the ABUS SG1650 on a suitable wall surface using appropriate fasteners and wiring. Connect the unit to the alarm control panel following the panel manufacturer’s wiring diagram: supply the siren with 12 V DC, connect the trigger/relay outputs for audible and optical control, and wire tamper contacts to the panel’s anti-tamper inputs. Ensure polarity and voltage are correct before powering the device. Test both sounder and strobe functions after installation to verify operation.
Install the siren at a visible, elevated position to maximise strobe visibility and ensure the unit is accessible for wiring but protected from direct vandalism. Observe the installer and alarm panel manufacturer instructions for correct wiring and tamper integration. Regularly test the siren and strobe and inspect the housing and contacts for signs of damage or corrosion.
