Description

The AJA ROI-DP is an active video converter that transforms DisplayPort signals from computers into baseband SDI and mirrored HDMI outputs. It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 and common video modes such as 525i, 625i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Compact and portable, the ROI-DP includes a universal power supply, a locking power connector and a direct loop-through DisplayPort connection so an external monitor can remain connected while extracting the desired region for SDI output.

How to use

Connect the computer DisplayPort output to the ROI-DP input and, if needed, connect an external monitor to the loop-through DisplayPort. Attach the 3G-SDI and/or HDMI outputs to downstream equipment. Use the USB connection to run AJA’s Mini-Config application on your computer; within Mini-Config interactively select the Region of Interest, set scaling, aspect ratio and frame rate conversion, and choose audio source and routing. The configured video and audio will be embedded and output over SDI and HDMI simultaneously.

Usage recommendations

For best results, select a target output resolution that matches the downstream device and use Mini-Config to visually confirm the chosen Region of Interest and aspect conversion. When operating in remote locations, use the optional P-TAP cable or a compatible battery solution to maintain stable power.
