Cable boot Alantec WT012 for RJ45 connectors, blue
Alantec WT012 is a blue cable boot for RJ45 connectors designed to provide strain relief and basic protection to Ethernet patch cables. This molded boot reduces stress at the plug-cable junction, helps prevent sharp bends at the connector and limits wear to the connector latch and cable jacket. The compact profile fits standard RJ45 plugs and is intended for use in network installations, patch panels and general office cabling where improved connector durability and neater cable routing are required.
The Alantec WT012 boot delivers consistent strain relief and helps extend the life of patch cables by reducing mechanical stress at the connector. Its snug fit around the plug and cable minimizes kinking and prevents the latch from catching, which reduces accidental disconnections during handling. The blue colour provides an easy visual identifier for cable management and zoning without affecting electrical performance.
Slide the Alantec WT012 boot onto the cable before terminating the RJ45 plug, positioning the boot so the wider end covers the plug body and the narrow end grips the cable jacket. After crimping the connector, push the boot forward over the crimped plug until it seats securely against the plug body. Ensure the boot fully covers the junction between the plug and cable to provide effective strain relief and to help maintain the correct cable bend radius at the connector.
Use the boot on cables that require frequent handling or routing through panels and trays. Choose the blue variant to visually separate cable runs or assign colour codes for different networks. Avoid overstretching the boot during installation; replace boots that become torn or deformed to maintain protection.
