Processor AMD EPYC 9175F 4.2 GHz 16 Cores 512 MB L3 Socket SP5
Processor AMD EPYC 9175F 4.2 GHz with 16 cores and 512 MB L3 cache is a server-class CPU for Socket SP5 platforms. Part of the 5th Gen AMD EPYC family, the 9175F delivers high core density, large cache capacity and support for DDR5 dodeca-channel memory, offering up to 576 GB/s memory bandwidth. It is designed for data center and cloud workloads where efficient per-server performance, memory throughput and compatibility with GPU-accelerated systems are important.
The AMD EPYC 9175F combines 16 “Zen 5” cores with a large 512 MB L3 cache and high memory bandwidth to provide strong integer performance and efficient multi-threaded throughput in a compact server footprint. It supports Socket SP5 and dodeca-channel DDR5 memory, enabling higher virtual CPU density and improved TCO compared with older architectures. The processor is suitable as a host CPU in GPU-accelerated systems to better utilize GPUs for select AI and inference workloads.
Install the AMD EPYC 9175F into a compatible Socket SP5 motherboard following the server vendor’s installation instructions and thermal guidelines. Populate supported DDR5 memory modules across the dodeca-channel configuration to achieve optimal memory bandwidth. Configure firmware and OS settings recommended by the server vendor, install appropriate platform drivers and enable virtualization or containerization features as needed for workload deployment. For GPU-accelerated systems, use a validated server platform that pairs the 9175F with the chosen GPU set and configure PCIe and BIOS settings for balanced CPU–GPU performance.
For best results, use the AMD EPYC 9175F in rack or blade servers designed for Socket SP5 with adequate cooling and power delivery. Match memory configuration to the vendor’s validated configurations to realize the stated memory bandwidth, and size virtual machine and container deployments to leverage the 16-core capacity for efficient inference, virtualization, or mixed cloud workloads.
