The set contains three sequential taps intended for progressive cutting and finishing of M10 holes in compatible metals and materials. The set provides a clear progression from initial cut to finish, helping to produce consistent M10 x 1.50 mm internal threads with reduced risk of tap breakage when used correctly. Select an appropriate drill size for the M10 x 1.50 mm thread and drill a clean, properly sized hole. Secure the workpiece and align the first (starter) tap square to the hole. Apply cutting oil suitable for the material being tapped and rotate the tap by hand using a tap wrench, advancing slowly and reversing periodically to clear chips. Continue with the intermediate tap and then the finishing tap, using cutting fluid as needed and checking the thread engagement after the final pass.
Use the taps with correct hole preparation, appropriate cutting fluid, and gradual, controlled turning to reduce wear and risk of breakage. Match tap material and flute geometry to the workpiece material when possible, and replace taps that show excessive wear or damage to preserve thread quality.
