Tap set Art-Pol M12 x 1.75 mm, metric thread, 3-piece
Tap set Art-Pol M12 x 1.75 mm, metric thread, 3-piece
Art-Pol tap set M12 x 1.75 mm is a three-piece metric tap kit intended for cutting or restoring internal threads with M12 x 1.75 pitch. The set is designed for both manual and machine tapping in metalworking and maintenance tasks, and includes sequential taps for starting, roughing and finishing operations to produce accurate, consistent threads in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
The three-piece arrangement provides a progressive cutting sequence that reduces torque and improves chip control compared with single-step tapping. Quality heat-treated steel construction ensures wear resistance and durability under normal workshop use. The set is compact and suitable for use with hand tap wrenches, tapping machines, and drill-press tapping attachments, allowing flexibility between manual repair work and production environments.
Select the starter tap to establish the thread runout and align the tool in the hole. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material, then turn the starter tap through the workpiece to the recommended depth, backing off occasionally to break chips. Follow with the intermediate (rough) tap to remove more material and improve thread form, and finish with the final tap to achieve full thread profile and correct pitch. When using a machine, ensure correct alignment, speed and feed to avoid deflection or breakage. Clear chips and reapply lubricant between passes.
Use appropriate cutting lubricant for the workpiece material, secure the workpiece firmly, and avoid excessive torque or side loading. Inspect tapped threads with gauges or mating fasteners to confirm fit. Store taps in a dry place to prevent corrosion and protect cutting edges.
