Machine Tap Art-Pol M10 x 1.50 mm
Machine Tap Art-Pol M10 x 1.50 mm is a precision cutting tool designed to create internal metric threads with a 1.50 mm pitch. Intended for use with machines or drilling presses, this tap is suited to production, repair and maintenance tasks where accurate M10 threads are required. The tool is produced by Art-Pol and is intended for metalworking and compatible materials that tolerate standard tapping operations.
The machine tap offers consistent thread geometry for repeatable results and is built to withstand the axial and rotational forces of machine tapping. Its geometry and fluting are optimized for chip evacuation when used in suitable materials and conditions, which reduces the risk of thread damage. Designed for use in mechanized operations, the tap delivers higher productivity than manual tapping while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
Secure the workpiece in a stable fixture and align the tap with the hole center. Use the correct pilot hole diameter for M10 x 1.50 mm threads, then operate the machine or drilling press at recommended speeds for the material being tapped. Apply appropriate cutting fluid if required by the material to aid chip removal and prolong tool life. Advance the tap steadily, withdrawing periodically to clear chips if necessary, and finish by reversing carefully to remove the tool from the newly formed thread.
Verify the base material and drill the correct pilot hole before tapping. Select cutting speeds and cutting fluid appropriate to the material (softer metals typically allow higher speeds and less aggressive lubrication; harder alloys require lower speeds and more cooling). Inspect taps regularly for wear and replace when thread quality degrades to avoid damage to workpieces.
