Server barebone ASRock 2U1G-B650/AQUA — AMD B650 chipset, Socket AM5, DDR5, Aspeed AST2600, Intel I210 Gigabit LAN (2U rack)
ASRock 2U1G-B650/AQUA is a 2U rack server barebone built around the AMD B650 chipset and Socket AM5, designed to accept AMD Ryzen and select AMD EPYC processors. The system supports up to four DDR5 DIMMs (288-pin) in dual‑channel configuration and provides integrated Aspeed AST2600 remote management graphics together with two Intel I210 1GbE ports. UEFI AMI firmware (256 Mbit) and a compact 2U chassis make this barebone suitable for space‑constrained server rooms, virtualization hosts and edge computing deployments.
This barebone combines modern Socket AM5 CPU support with DDR5 memory compatibility, offering improved memory bandwidth for server workloads. The inclusion of Aspeed AST2600 and IPMI remote management simplifies headless operation and out-of-band maintenance. Two 1GbE Intel I210 ports provide reliable network connectivity, while support for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 expansion slots allows installation of high-performance add-in cards. A 1200 W redundant-capable power design in a 2U rack form factor supports sustained operation in dense rack installations.
Install a compatible Socket AM5 processor and populate up to four DDR5 DIMMs according to the motherboard memory population rules. Fit storage drives into the two 2.5" drive bays and add M.2 modules to the onboard slots if additional NVMe or SATA boot/storage is required. Use the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for high‑performance accelerators or GPUs and the PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for additional NICs or storage controllers. Connect network cables to the Intel I210 RJ45 ports and configure IPMI for remote management and monitoring. Follow standard rackmount procedures to secure the 2U barebone in a server rack and connect the power supply to a reliable power source.
For balanced system performance, use ECC DDR5 modules when deploying database or virtualization workloads and ensure proper CPU cooling and airflow in a 2U chassis. Validate power and cooling capacity in rack environments when installing PCIe cards or high‑TDP processors. Enable and configure IPMI for secure remote management and monitoring to reduce on-site maintenance interventions.
