The AUDAC APC100 Black is a configuration and control unit designed to integrate and manage AUDAC 'smart' devices across audio installations. It supports AC input voltages from 100 to 240 V with an input frequency of 47–63 Hz and accepts a 24 V DC input. Compact in size (108 mm width, 164 mm depth, 44 mm height) and supplied in a package weighing approximately 1.12 kg, the APC100 provides multiple communication interfaces to link matrix systems, mixers, paging consoles and wall panels into a single controllable system.
The APC100 centralizes device management by offering TCP/IP, RS-232 and RS-485 communication ports, enabling interoperability between networked and serial devices. It simplifies configuration tasks, system updates, backups and duplication of settings, reducing installation and maintenance time. The built-in real-time clock provides time synchronization for scheduled events when connected to an internet time server. The unit also supports file uploads such as voice messages and screensavers directly from a computer.
Connect the APC100 to power using a compatible AC supply (100–240 V) or a 24 V DC source according to installation requirements. Link the unit to AUDAC 'smart' devices via Ethernet for TCP/IP control or use RS-232/RS-485 serial connections for devices without network interfaces. Install the AUDAC System Manager software on a computer to configure device settings, upload voice files or screensavers, perform backups and apply updates. Use the gateway functionality to convert serial communication to TCP/IP and vice versa when integrating legacy equipment into a networked automation environment.
For reliable operation, place the APC100 in a ventilated equipment cabinet or rack and use appropriate mounting brackets if desk, closet or 19” rack installation is required. Ensure firmware and the AUDAC System Manager software are kept up to date and synchronize the internal clock with an internet time server when accurate scheduled events are needed. Use shielded cabling for serial connections in electrically noisy environments and follow local electrical codes for power connections.
