Cover trim for various tile sizes AWENTA MU1 — universal tile edge cover
AWENTA MU1 universal cover trim is a finishing profile designed to mask tile edges and transitions for a range of tile thicknesses. The trim creates a neat, continuous boundary at thresholds, wall-to-floor junctions and exposed tile edges, concealing cut edges and gaps while protecting the tile perimeter from mechanical damage and wear. Suitable for use in domestic bathrooms and kitchens as well as in light commercial interiors where a tidy and durable tile edge is required.
The profile provides a uniform visible edge that improves the appearance of tiled surfaces and reduces the risk of chipping at exposed edges. Its universal design accepts multiple tile thicknesses, simplifying selection and installation across different tile types. The trim helps create watertight-looking transitions and protects the tile edge from impacts and abrasion, increasing the longevity of the finish. Installation is compatible with standard tile adhesives and edge-fixing methods.
Measure the tile thickness and length required, cut the trim to size with an appropriate tool, and dry-fit to confirm alignment. Apply tile adhesive to the substrate or bed the trim into fresh adhesive where appropriate, ensuring the visible face is aligned with the tile surface height for a flush finish. Place tiles up to the trim edge, press firmly into the adhesive, and leave to set according to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. After grouting, clean excess grout from the visible profile face and check the trim is securely fixed.
Use trims that match the tile thickness for the neatest finish; when working in wet areas, ensure adhesives and grouts are suitable for the environment and allow full curing before subjecting the tiled area to heavy use. For best results, cut the profile with a fine-toothed saw and protect the visible surface from scratches during installation.
