Hand tool shaft/handle adapter AWTools AW00236, weight 550 g
AWTools AW00236 is a replacement hand tool shaft/handle adapter made of lathe-turned hardwood. Designed to connect handles or extensions to compatible manual tools, this adapter provides a stable connection for transferring torque and maintaining grip. With a listed weight of 550 g and a curved ergonomic profile, the adapter is intended for workshop repairs, handle replacements and simple tool customization tasks. The hardwood construction resists cracks and deformations and the product is manufactured in Poland.
The lathe-turned hardwood construction gives consistent density and a smooth finish that reduces friction between hand and handle. Resistance to cracks and deformations increases longevity under repeated use. The ergonomic curved shaft improves hand positioning and helps prevent the handle slipping during swings or forceful work. Compatibility with a range of axe heads in the 1.0–1.25 kg weight class allows reuse of existing heads and straightforward replacement work.
Prepare the tool head and shaft socket by cleaning contact surfaces and removing old wedges or debris. Fit the AWTools AW00236 into the tool head socket and ensure the shaft shoulder seats firmly against the head. Secure the head to the shaft using appropriate wedges, pins or recommended fastening methods for your tool type. Check the alignment and balance before first use and perform a test strike with low force to confirm a secure fit.
Store the wooden shaft in a dry, ventilated area away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity to maintain its shape and resistance to cracking. Periodically inspect the connection, re-tighten wedges if necessary, and sand or oil the shaft surface to preserve grip and prolong service life.
